Foox Opens the UCCA Store

Come join me and my compadres at the opening event of the UCCA Store here in Beijing China!
The UCCA is a wonderful artistic venue – in my mind it is China’s equivalent of the MOMA in NYC – it is THAT classy and edgy and the modern art is gorgeous. The UCCA is opening up their new store and will include my art and designs.
If you happen to find yourself in this neck of the woods please drop by, say hi, stay awhile. Otherwise see you at Art Basel Miami a few weeks later.

Dear Mr. Foox-
I receive your emails with no knowledge from whence they have come. It seems you are an artist of some merit, as you have had a Beijing adventure and some shows and commercial triumphs.I’m so happy for your success in these times. I’m in Eugene ,Oregon with a tragic economy and poverty apparent like 1932.I’m trying to make sense of all our merits, from artist to mall worker, manufacturing and service.
Who do we serve? How do we reconcile our ideals, vision, and talents with our circumstances? God knows this culture doesn’t value anything but ” The Buck”. The ability of art to be a cultural representation of our human condition should be valued as a mirror to the social climate. How can we integrate that, the same as land use and city planning? Could there be art in policy? Art in planning? Why does everything have to be result driven? Can’t we create a narrative in our towns, states, regions, that just informs our condition, without ideology and idealism? It simply informs our place in THIS time. We need to return to ” The Story”. Not just accept the one we are fed by TV and Media. The Story is ancient and shared. It is the thing that has advanced cultures, as has art, through millennium.Thank you for your Story.
