FOOX first Museum Exhibition as part of a Group Show curated by the notorious and gorgeous Vanessa Ruiz of Street Anatomy fame opens September 3rd, 2010.

The show promises to bring together 20 pieces of anatomically related street art by 9 wonderfully talented artists. The line up includes:

FORTUNE and FAME by David Foox (FOOX).  Limited editions and both completely sold out. FOOX has offered up the likes of FAME and FORTUNE to the public.

September brings with it the release of FAITH and the entire series is titled “The Fifth Letter“.

Some of you know FOOX from his toys and Buddha Bucks Wallets stocked at great spots like YRB, Poptopia, Pearl River, Jim Hanley’s Universe, Ultrapop, and/or Kidrobot.

FOOX debuted his New York relationship through New York Comic Con (2008) and Paper Magazine Nightlife Awards Party. Now FOOX is showing his fine art series called “As Within So Without” at the Lyons Wier Gallery (Show is up through July 17th). So sometimes stuff just grows naturally from the birth of one thing to the creation of another. When I created the myHeart series for Valentine’s Day, I did so with two things in mind: 1. the new LOVE of my life and 2. the broken heart of my past. And with that sincerity the rest free-flowed naturally into the Universe at large. Those 8 pieces are gone now – to better homes and my chest has never felt so exposed!

Now people are sending me their X RAYS (of their chests, skulls, backs, and reproductive organs) and asking me to paint THEIR heart on THEIR x-rays. Since art reflects the person viewing it, it only makes sense that this would naturally develop out of the original concept.

Obviously this is healthier for me (since I don’t like getting radiated) and I do love connecting with people. It is a totally intimate feeling to paint on top of someone’s X-RAYS because you feel their body in way that regular vision does not allow. If there ever was a way to totally connect with someone from afar this is one totally bizarre and fresh way to do it.

So for those of you out there that want me to paint an original FOOX on your MEDICAL RECORDS, X-RAYS, or MRI’s please send my assistant the following email to bnfoox@gmail.com

It has been an eventful weekend. First saw the Mr Brainwash show in Meat Packing District and had a drink with him in the morning then grabbed a couple of his prints signed and fingerprinted in his style. I know a lot of people are asking – Is Mr Brainwash, Banksy, and is Banksy, Mr Brainwash and after looking at his postcard for the event, I just don’t know. Banksy has this crazy flair for this type of prank and I wouldn’t be surprised if he chose a Frenchman to be his doppleganger, however, regardless, who cares? His show was hot, the event was fun, the energy was unbelievable and I love Frenchmen.
