ZAKKA TOY STORE in DUMBO, BROOKLYN, NY

It’s been a while since I saw my friends over at ZAKKA and today I was lucky enough to have a small window of time and just happened to find myself walking the streets of DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass) in Brooklyn NY.

DUMBO has become, in recent years, a Mecca of sorts for art lovers and collectors of all sorts. There are tons of great artist studios, small boutique stores with hard to find wares and fashion that has not yet hit Abercrombie and Urban.

One of my favorite spots here is ZAKKA Toy Store. Since the tragedy and nuclear meltdown in Japan, I have been on the look out for anything made in Japan and ZAKKA pretty much has EVERYTHING “Made in Japan“.

What did we talk about? Mostly Chevy Chase and how he hates people saying “what’s up?” to him and about his breast implants. Yah seriously, Chevy Chase and those darn chest implants. As if Chevy really needs muscles (even silicon ones).

The RABBIT APs (ARTIST PROOFS) are now all spoken for and SOLD OUT.

FOOX’s much awaited Rabbits available in 10 different characters and comprise this very small print edition of hand painted FOOX Rabbits. These 10 noble hares represent the

Pursuits of Man: their quest for Comfort and Conquest.

5 sets were made, 4 sets are sold, ONE set of 10 rabbits will be made available at Christie’s Auction House in their Spring auction March 29th. Stay tuned for details.

As an artist that is constantly focused on maintaining a very rigid set of standards and detailed line work, I sometimes need to make art in a rough and raw manner. Much to the chagrin of some of the other inhabitants, I put these two ram’s heads up using a rubber number stamp and regular india ink – and it was a lot of fun to do so.

Artist contacted by Aliens to communicate end of humanity message to the public

FOOX contacted by a higher power to communicate the end of time (visual)

The most recent addition to the artworld, David Foox (aka FOOX) was recently contacted by a divine alien species, the “Arcturians” and warned of the fall of Man should we “not clean up our act and our planet.”

The Arcturians inspired FOOX to create a series of interpretive paintings, expressing their concerns with the end of mankind if we don’t change our destructive path. “The inspiration behind the Ram artwork series stems from contact I had with the Arcturians and their emphasis on humanity’s urgent need to clean up the planet. The image of this Ram’s head was etched into my mind as the message of cleaning up our planet was communicated,” says FOOX pointing to centerpiece Ram’s head juxtapozed into four different backgrounds – Earth, Fire, Water and Air.

From FOOX’s contact with the Arcturians he was able to gather information about their beings. The Arcturians are a divine alien species existing somewhere in the 8th or 9th dimensions. They are so advanced that they need not follow any type of time or space constraints and can interact with any part of the Universe -or perhaps Multiverse- effortlessly. They stem from a part of space known as Arcturus – a star system many many light years away.

Why did the Arcturians choose to place the Ram image in FOOX’s consciousness? According to ancient teachings, the Ram will herald in the Apocalypse as evil fights evil, Gog and Magog. It is also the time of year in which the death of the sun is represented by the changing of seasons as we transcend into Winter.

The Ram has taken on worldwide symbolic meaning.”From Gaul to Black Africa, from India to China there was the same joyful worship of that symbolic Ram which linked creative fire to fertility and even, by mediation of the principle of life itself – immortality,” says FOOX. In other words, humanity through the symbol of the Ram represents the necessary creative forces needed to solve our planetary problems and heal the damaged earth and atmosphere. The Ram representing both stubborn optimism and fiery, masculine “push” energy – means that action can be taken and the environment saved.

The series of paintings and the message to tell all must be complete before midnight on October 31st. Please help FOOX in shaping a better future for all, ending conflict, and the destruction to our natural resources by spreading the good will of artistic expression. This may be the only vehicle left in our arsenal to express positivity.

David Foox (FOOX) is an artist that takes on unique yet crucial social causes in order to help make the world a better place.
